We find that responding to consultations on local issues can be a very effective way to drive positive change. We will post details of current consultations on this page, and also suggested responses for more complex consultations (such as on aviation).
If you would like to take quick actions on local issues you can sign up to our ‘2 minute action’ email alerts. We promise never to email you more than once a week and not to ask you to do something that will take more than a couple of minutes. All actions relate to local environmental issues. You can sign up here.
Thames Water
Thames Water is proposing to draw off water from the Thames above Teddington Lock and replace it with treated sewage – a project generally referred to as the Teddington Direct River Abstraction scheme (or Teddington DRA scheme). RTFoE is opposed to this plan and responded to the consultation in March 2023 – see our response here and in December 2023 – see our response here
In December 2024 we sent Thames Water some further comments outlining our thoughts about the most recent consultation on modifications to the Teddington DRA scheme.

In December 2024 we responded to the Civil Aviation Authority’s consultation on how it should fulfil its role as a reviewer of the effects of aviation on the environment here
